Basics of Spiritual Technologies

Introduction

Spiritual studies are usually equated with esoteric societies and mysticism. Down through the ages, various enlightened people have attempted to lift the subject out of this black pit of oblivion. Their efforts are always fought, unfortuantely, by those who are under the delusion that they are the keepers of this knowledge and that it must remain a secret from the general population. Such fears on the part of ruling groups go back into the most ancient of times.

It is a real trick to keep secret from someone a truth which he or she may readily percieve by doing little more than just looking. But they have done a very workmanlike job of keeping the basics of this subject under wraps. Not everyone can get mental pictures, but if you can think of a cat to the point where you can sort of see one that you have just invented or that you have seen before, then you can go ahead to ask yourself the next obvious question: what is looking at that picture? Whether that picture exists in your brain or in your mind or is total delusion, the fact remains that you couldn't see it if you weren't looking at it. And if you got a mental picture by thinking of a cat, then you weren't looking at it with your eyes, either. A lot of people do this all the time and never realize that it proves they are a spiritual being, so I'll leave the conclusion up to you.

Spiritual technologies are based on the observation that spiritual beings seem to exist. This is difficult for traditional science, as that is all spiritual beings can really do: exist. You can't really detect them or weigh them or shoot beams at them. They are essentially totally non-physical. They are the total opposite of physical reality, which makes them the only possible creators of physical reality. If you study a spiritual technology like Scientology you will find it is totally based on the finding that a being creates its own reality. Other technologies may vary on this point.

Spiritual technologies require practice, like typing, or tennis. But they do not require belief, as is sometimes asserted. They only require a certain level of self-confidence. Not much different than what would be required to learn to type or to play tennis well. What you are able to do with a spiritual technology is monitored by what you already know, though may have forgotten. As with other skills and abilities, your spiritual performance can also be limited by considerations you have that you simply are unable to do things like that, or that if you could do them it would be unsafe. This is an extremely important area of spiritual development which is addressed directly by a technology like Scientology, and only indirectly by most others. In other words, a technology for handling one's own barriers to spritual development is built into Scientology as an intrinsic part of it. Thus it will be found to work on anyone. All this really means is that there was a concerted attempt to design Scientology that way, which is less true of most other technologies.

But it must be assumed that all these technologies and studies are tapping into the same basic truths. So to say that one is more workable is not the same as saying that it is the only valid technology. You can treat gangrene with antibiotics, amputation, or both. Which works best for me is a question that may be answered differently from different points of view. In a modern world with modern facilities and basic guarantees of free movement, I would choose Scientology. In other situations I might go with anything I could get my hands on.

Spiritual studies, like others based on the value of free and open information, have been attacked and/or infiltrated by persons who place a high value on secrecy. Thus, you may find specific persons, groups, teachings, or practices, to seem a little off. Don't let such experiences ruin your entire opinion of the subject! There is too much here that is valuable, and some would argue, essential. Buried in the teachings and lore of the various spiritual technologies are basic truths about the history of beings and societies and their relationships. Sometimes these lie buried under layers of dogma or ritual, but they are insights that are totally vital to our long-term survival.

Resources
Scientology

This subject provides the most lucid and transparent technology for improving one's spiritual abilities that I am aware of.

Buddhism

Buddhism was introduced on this planet many centuries before Christianity. It makes no statements about God or gods. It rapidly spread across all of Asia. Numerous technologies have been evolved by the various sects, and they are still taught.

Hinduism and its derivatives

Hinduism is arguably the oldest religious belief system on the planet. However, that does not mean that it predates the times of ET interference here. It is, from all appearances, a synthesis created out of that interference. Given all that time to develop, the volume and variety of scriptures, sects and practices is very great.

Occult Writings and Practices

The occult, by definition, is not necessarily a well-publicized, well-studied, or well-communicated subject. The numerous groups and societies that profess to protect esoteric teachings all tell us that these teachings are supposed to be a secret to all not properly initiated. Even Scientology includes some data of this type, though the great majority of that subject is freely available for study. Based on what those who have studied the occult have reported, these teachings basically consist of secrets that aren't really secret. They were basically a P.R. ploy by controlling ETs to make some humans feel that they are superior to others and among the chosen. I see no evidence that these teachings have anything new or startling to offer. They simply serve to perpetuate a cancer in our civilization inserted by ET forces who did not want our civilization to become healthy, vibrant, and independent.
