As you walk to the museum through the neighborhoods of Capitol Hill, you may spy a fat garden spider, hanging on through the waning warmth of summer's end...
If coming from the north, take Broadway south to Union.
Around the corner from Gilda's place, the museum sign comes into view...
(It's at 954 E. Union)
And finally, you are inside the museum lobby...
...where "Zultan" is waiting to greet you!
Just inside: The New York World's Fair model...
There is a motion detector there, rigged to set off a flash, for Halloween "lightning."
And in the windows, various curiosities, such as a pair of high intensity LED lamps, run by more custom electronics.
And then the room begins to change into a place that looks more like a comfortable Victorian home...
Pay your admission (Thank You!) and you may enter the Main Room...
...where you may read about the legends and lore of Seattle, or peek into the World's Fair Preservation Society's display room.
Further in is a Bigfoot display.
Behind it is the Weird Science display and tech area.
You may sit down if you wish, and enjoy one or more videos from the Museum's extensive collection. Or test your ESP abilities with a set of Rhine cards. (Professor Rhine was an early paranormal researcher.)
Next, more Northwest legend and lore, starting with Frances Farmer.
There's even an electronic organ! Try your hand at it!
In the library you will find a diverse selection of reference books, and works on alternative topics, mysticism and the paranormal.
Many of these books were donated by James W. Ray.
In the corner is the Oxygen Bar and the Ghost Communication Box.
Don't forget to tour the Bruce Lee Hallway of Fame.
As you return to the front, you may notice the audio setup, hidden discretely under a sea of bright sparkles. If running, you will hear its output in the lobby.
And don't forget to check out the selection of unique items for sale.
Thanks for visiting!
